What is a Rallysprint?

It’s hard to find one definition of a Rallysprint. It’s the step between Rallycross and Stage Rally. It’s generally a longer track, with higher speeds and more potential hazards. Some events require upgraded safety equipment.

How is it different from a NTRX Rallycross?

The biggest difference for us is the length, speed and condition of the track. We do not require upgraded safety equipment, just a safe car and a SNELL certified helmet. Vehicles may not be taller than 62 inches with no exceptions. We highly discourage you from running a tire with a tall sidewall that is not specifically designed for rally use. If the track degrades and ruts form early in the day at our regular rallycross events, we tend to change the design of the course to avoid the problem. At this event, we will not change the course for ruts because it is a planned, publicly available layout that is using as much track distance as we reasonably can. If a tall sidewall tire catches a rut and is not designed to take that kind of side loading, the tire can de-bead from the wheel, likely leading to a rollover.

Participants will receive 3 extra points for this event, making for a minimum of 5 and maximum of 8 for first place in class.

Schedule

We will be starting early and likely ending late. There will be a significant gap between starting cars due to the size of the course, so the line will move slower than normal. We will aim to begin runs at 9AM, and will go until dusk if racers are still wanting to run. You do not have to show up at 9, but you may miss out on parade laps if you are late. The event will be scored on average time, with your first two runs being free. We may ask participants to watch a section of the track for penalties etc.

Track

Below is the track map and a YouTube video. The track is right at 2 miles long. You may choose to have a codriver, but we will do our best to mark the track clearly.
