What makes for a good rally car?

There is no right answer to this question. Everyone has a different idea of how a car should behave close to and past the limit, which is a lot of the time in Rallycross.

The fastest cars are on autocross compound tires. We run on very hard packed dirt that grips up like crazy. In fact, you can simply copy a somewhat competitive autocross build and have an exceptionally competitive rallycross car.

Lightness helps, but there are heavy cars that are fast too. Suspension components are under less stress on a lighter car.

Weight over the drive wheels helps. This is part of why FWD cars are so good at Rallycross. They're also a lot easier to keep pointed the direction you want to go.
